Get In Touch
I photographed this Santa Barbara Courthouse elopement last summer and I can’t stop thinking that they did it right. Jessa and Christian brought their family and friends to the courthouse lawn and tied the knot in the late afternoon. The guest list was intimate. 20 of their family and closest friends watched as they said their vows and then joined them for pizza and drinks at Mizza, downtown. It was simple, sweet and perfectly them.
Small elopements like this leave little room for stress and error. The meaning of why were all there isn’t easily lost. On the way from the courthouse wedding to the restaurant we stopped off at a beach and snapped a couple sunset photos. Incorporating something like this between the ceremony and “reception” allows the couple to have a moment just the two of them. Which they always love! (Not mentioned, the creep in the corner with a camera 😉 )
Every time I photograph a small elopement like this I wish I could share the energy it provides with all of my couples. Simple, sweet, intimate, and genuinely about the love between the bride and groom. If you ask me, this is the way to do it!
