From day one, I fell in love with Vanessa’s creative brain. It exploded all over this intimate Los Angeles backyard elopement in the best way. They spent the day with only their closest friends. They opted to skip the ceremony and jump straight to the party on their patio, which they transformed into a disco dance floor. Playing music from their personal computer and pouring drinks behind their at home bar kept the vibe personal and intimate. Honestly, this is my favorite way to do it. Skip the stress of throwing a huge wedding at a crazy expensive venue and throw a party for your day ones.
Vanessa changed from her sexy chic wedding dress to a second reception dress, complete with a bridal cowboy hat. OBSESSED. Normally I hate pushing trends on my brides, but I love when people changing into something more fun raising the dance floor vibe up a notch.
A circular tablescape sat nestled under endless strings of twinkle lights for the dinner party. It was one of the sweetest reception set ups I’ve ever seen. The ambiance was pure magic. Dinner was prepared by a professional chef and custom cocktails were poured all night long. I wish you could have tasted the coconut margarita; Beyond yummy. I just remember feeling how deeply they loved when Jude gifted Vanessa a ring at dinner. Something about the way she looked at him and even the way they touched when she said thank you and hugged him felt special. Vanessa danced under the disco ball all night with all of her best girlfriends. The guys floated on and off of the dance floor, at times watching the girls from the sidelines, cigar in mouth with a smile. Vibes were immaculate and I’m forever obsessed.
