The last time I saw Kali and Max they were drunk dancing on tables at their wedding, and today I’m here blogging their family photos. Life moves so fast!
I met them at their LA home on a rainy Saturday. It’s always so fun catching up with past bride and grooms and getting to see them through each new phase of life. Family photos are always such a trip. Rhodes is the cutest 1 year old little dude – a perfect mix of Kali and Max. I hope he grows up with at least a little bit of his mama’s wild side!
Bath time is obviously the cutest, so I was stoked when I got there to document while mom washed his hair and got the little guy ready for the day. Naturally he wanted bottle service after the bath (as one does) and dad snuck in a quick feed. We hung out and crawled around on the living room floor. Watched the Christmas tree train, played guitar with dad, snuggled mom on the couch.
Putting kids in an environment comfortable to them makes family photos so much less stressful on everyone. Rhodes was so chill and fun to watch!
Kali planned their family photo outfits perfectly. Neutral colors, mixed textures, complimentary tones in the same family, and casual enough to chill at home in. I always stress to my couples that you want your outfits for family photos to make sense in the setting. It’s easy to want to dress up extra for the occasion (and that is ok sometimes too) but it makes things feel so much more natural when your outfit feels true to the scene.
