Couples Photos At Home

March 22, 2024

What I love about shooting couples photos at home – it’s so much easier for you to get intimate, playful, authentic and relaxed. This is one of those sessions that let me fall a little more in love with my job.

Firstly, morning light is always elite. Especially when shooting in home, it brings such a warmth to your photos. When the bride and I planned this session we knew we wanted to start at sunrise for optimal lighting. Courtney and Andreas live in their first place together near the mountains and we decided to utilize that. We started up in the hills while the sun came up, and ended up back in their little studio pad just in time as tummys started to rumble. The couple threw on their sweats, made breakfast, danced in the kitchen and just lounged.

I always tell my clients to dress authentically to the spaces they’re in and this is a perfect example. It feels like you’re really getting a peek at a snapshot of their life because they blend seamlessly into their surroundings. Don’t be afraid to dress like you for your photoshoot. Especially if you’re taking couples photos at home!

Court and Dre later got married in Joshua Tree and I was lucky enough to get to document that for them as well.
See their wedding here.

These photos were taken at Mt. Baldy.
